Heavy Rainfall Event on 6th July 2012

Heavy rain fell in the Board's area starting at 6am on Friday 6th July and continued through the day. No actual flooding occurred in the Board's area, but throughout the weekend Board's employees were busy ensuring the pumping stations were operating satisfactorily.

All the drainage channels were full of weed growth which held up the flow of water to the pumping stations. One example of this was in Swineshead village where water levels were high, so a machine was sent to clear the weeds out of the drain.

All of the flow is pumped into the South Forty Foot Drain at Swineshead Pumping Station.
