Weed Control by Chemical Spraying
The Board carries out an annual weed-control spraying programme on certain sections of Board maintained drains, usually during April and May.
These works involve the use of Roundup Pro Biactive (Glyphosate) which is applied by hand spraying (knapsack) within and along the drain.
Details of the lengths that we are intending to treat are detailed in the document linked below and marked in red on the map.
As a precaution it is advised that no water for spray irrigation or crop spraying should be taken from these drains for a period of four weeks after application. Water taken from drains for irrigation purposes is entirely at the extractors own risk.
